Yoga for Healing Trauma: An Embodied Introduction

Saturday, August 22 · 1:00-3:30 PM · Yoga NoHo Center

$45 Early Bird through August 8 · $55 after · Space is limited

If talking about it has only taken you so far - if you've ever felt disconnected from your own body, or found the words hard to find - you're not alone, and you're not doing it wrong. Healing doesn't only happen in words.

This workshop introduces Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), an evidence-based practice that supports trauma recovery through the body. There's nothing to explain, nothing to relive, and nothing you have to share. Every moment is built on choice and invitation - and it's backed by 20+ years of research.

What you'll experience:

· Two invitation-based movement practices - every choice is yours, no experience needed

· How trauma can live in the body and nervous system - and why the words are sometimes hard to find

· Why an embodied approach doesn't leave the body out of healing - the science, in plain language

· Moments to pause, reflect, and connect - at your own pace, on your own terms

· A companion guide to follow along, with journal prompts and space to reflect

Anyone curious about how trauma healing and mindful movement can work together is welcome. Come as you are - no yoga experience needed.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga isn't a replacement for therapy - it's an evidence-based practice that supports trauma recovery, on its own or alongside the work you may already be doing.

About your facilitator

Kelsi Borden (she/her) is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified TCTSY Facilitator based in Los Angeles. Yoga, and the privilege of teaching it, has been a central part of her own journey - and her curiosity about trauma-informed practices led her to complete the 300-hour clinical TCTSY Facilitator certification through the Center for Trauma and Embodiment.

Kelsi specializes in making yoga accessible to everyone, with particular care for survivors of complex and relational trauma. Her teaching centers choice, invitational language, and the freedom to make decisions about your own body - so the practice always belongs to you. She teaches at Yoga NoHo and Wild Plum Wellness in Los Angeles and online, and offers TCTSY group and 1:1 series, private sessions, and workshops. yogawithkelsi.com
