Trauma & the Helping Professional - One Day Introduction

Join us for “Trauma & the Helping Professional” — an in-person, one-day reflective workshop designed for those in caring and supportive roles who are regularly exposed to other people’s trauma and distress.

This interactive session with Milecross Consultancy explores compassion fatigue, burnout, vicarious trauma, injustice trauma and moral injury by examining how these experiences can influence emotional wellbeing, relationships, and professional practice.

Through expert input, group discussion, and guided reflection, participants will have the opportunity to explore how and why helpers are affected by exposure to suffering, consider strategies to reduce personal impact and build resilience, and identify practical ways to strengthen trauma responsive practice at both service and organisational levels.

The workshop is suitable for professionals across health & medicine, social care, education, justice and community sectors, as well as first responders, online content and helpline professionals, aid workers, and journalists.
