About this Event

Traum-edy: A Joke Writing Workshop is a hands-on, supportive safe space where you’ll learn how to transform real-life experiences into comedy that can heal you and maybe the audience. Whether you’re brand new to stand-up comedy or looking to sharpen your material, this workshop will guide you through the essentials of joke structure, finding your unique voice, performance skills and turning personal stories into something powerful, and funny!

You’ll leave with new material, practical tools, tips for triggering moments, performance skills and the confidence to bring your story to the stage.

All ages are welcome but we do cater to dark themes.

Evan Wunderlich, born and raised in Oshawa Ontario, has over 10 years in comedy and has experienced life from psych wards to stages. Having experienced grief and the loss of loved ones, Evan takes his dark feelings and fuels them into jokes. Currently, he has a show streaming on BellFibe called "Are You Laughing Yet?", and he has performed, produced and hosted all over Canada at such venues as Yuk Yuks, Absolute Comedy, The Corner Comedy Club, and Oasis Aqua Lounge. Evan also runs a show called "Laugh Ward" that focuses on mental health themed humor. He has studied under Robin Duke (SNL) and Paul Bellini (Kids in the Hall) at Humber College.
