The City of Brighton is hosting two annual fall cleanup events, enabling residents to dispose of large household waste, recycle electronics, and securely shred sensitive paper documents.
Proof of City of Brighton residency (such as a water bill or driver’s license) is required for all events. Services are for residential use only; no commercial or industrial waste will be accepted.
Trash Bash: Large-Item Drop-Off & Special Needs Pick-Up
Drop-Off Dates & Time: Friday, Sept. 18 & Saturday, Sept. 19 | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Wastewater Treatment Facility, 325 N. Kuner Rd. (Use Brighton St. entrance)
Special Needs Pick-Up: Sept. 15 & 16 (Call 303-655-2087 to schedule)
Fees & Donations: $10 suggested donation. Tires accepted for a fee ($7 car/light pickup, $10 oversized, $20 semi-truck). Cash or check only.
Acceptable Items:
Furniture, cabinets, appliances (no units with Freon/refrigerants), bicycles, carpet (cut up), doors, yard equipment, mattresses/box springs, secure bundles of branches under 5 feet, and nail-free lumber under 5 feet. Small loose items must be securely containerized.
Prohibited Items:
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, TVs, computers, stereos, microwaves, household trash, yard waste/grass clippings, concrete/remodel debris, car bodies, hazardous chemicals, liquids, paint, oil, pesticides, or sealed containers with unknown contents.
Eco Event & Recycling: E-Waste & Document Shredding
Date & Time: Saturday, Sept. 19 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: Sue Corbett Active Adult Center at Eagle View, 1150 Prairie Center Pkwy. (No pick-up service available)
Payment Methods: Cash or check only. Credit cards are not accepted.
Services & Fees:
Document Shredding: Free, secure on-site paper shredding ($5 suggested donation).
E-Waste Recycling - $30: Electronics with motherboards, laptops, cell phones, gaming devices, cords, keyboards, towers, and servers ($30 flat disposal fee).
TVs & CRT Monitors - $30: Screens under 22", screens over 22", console/projection TVs. ($30 flat disposal fee) Please make checks payable to the "City of Brighton".
