Join Transition Town Bournemouth for a screening of Future Council, the inspiring documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Damon Gameau, director of 2040 and That Sugar Film.
Millions of children around the world are frustrated by the lack of action to protect the planet they will inherit. In Future Council, eight young people set out on an extraordinary road trip across Europe in a school bus powered by biofuel.
Their mission? To understand the ecological challenges facing our planet, discover the solutions that already exist — and take their questions beyond the streets and into the boardrooms of some of the world's most powerful companies and polluters.
Along the way, the children form their own ‘Future Council’, determined to influence the decisions that will shape the natural world and their lives.
Funny, adventurous and full of hope, Future Council is a coming-of-age story that dares us to imagine a brighter future — and asks what it would take to make it happen.
🌱 And the conversation doesn't end when the credits roll.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion, giving us the chance to explore the film's ideas, consider the challenges we face here in our own communities, and discuss what meaningful action for a better future could look like.
