Aja and Jacqui (music)

Aja and Jacqui are a musical duo formed out of trans open mics at Nabala Cafe. Their music is a blend of jazz, minimalism, improvisational music, and vibes. They're group doesn't have a name yet. They're just 2 gals havin' fun

Chr'ree Jewelz (burlesque)

Chr’ree is a drag/burly performer, poet, educator and co-producer of Transcendence: A Black Trans Variety Show, highlighting the talents of black TGNC performers in Chicago. You might see them here, you might catch a glimpse of them elsewhere—and if you do, trust, they’re a certified gem.

Demme Onyx (drag)

Demme Onyx is a bubbly vixen dying to eat your heart out. Creepy, sexy, cool, cash friendly

Chijioke Williams (storytelling/ percussion)

Chijioke Williams is a performance artist, audio-creative, and storyteller based in Chicago. She is the voice, writer, and sound designer of Between Heartbeats (in production), and can also be heard on StarTripper, Someone Dies In This Elevator, SuperSuits, and several other audio drama. Most recently, Chijioke was a Producer on Division Street: Revisited (PRX) and Unboxing Queer History. Chi prides herself on pushing the bounds of genre, sound, and story through creative applications of sound.

The Newport Theater is up a flight of stairs with no elevator, but access to a Genesis portable mobile stairlift (rated up to 400 pounds) is available. Please email [email protected] advance of your arrival to coordinate entry and sign a waiver (required by our landlord).

There are four single-stall non-gendered restrooms available onsite.
