Trans Day of Remembrance Dinner

Welcome back to The Black Trans Dinner! Join us for our annual Trans Day of Remembrance dinner! A night of rejoicing, kinship, communal, and collective dreaming at yes please: a bookhouse and carespace. In honor of Transgender Day of Remembrance, the dinner will be for our Black trans Siblings to share a meal, stories, and laughter. Let's break bread and build bonds on Thursday, Nov 20, 2025, at 3:00 -8:00 PM.

Event Details:

• Date: Thursday, November 20, 2025
• Soundbath & Altar Building: 3 PM - 5:00 PM
• Dinner & Gathering: 5 PM - 8 PM
• Place: yes please, carespace + bookspace

We will have a communal altar build, give thanks, and honor our trans siblings who have passed on. This will be a space of reflection and rest. Offerings you can bring to the altar:

• FLOWERS, INCENSE, CANDLES (white candles are preferred)
• FOOD OR TREATS (be sure to have a vessel)
• WRITTEN NOTES OR POEMS
• IMAGES OF THE TRANCESTOR
• ANY MEMORABILIA
• ANYTHING THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO OFFER FROM YOUR GENDER JOURNEY

This evening is about more than just food — it’s about radical care, resource-building, and supporting one another as we continue to navigate and thrive in our identities. It’s a moment for us to honor the strength and resilience of our community while forging deeper connections.

yes please: a bookhouse and carespace is a physical manifestation of our reverence for black women and gender expansive writers and readers who continue to show us the way forward. yes please provides the physical container for the inherent worth of black women to be seen and felt, for the practice of receiving and giving care, and for holistic regeneration.

Accessibility + COVID-19 Safety:

At FOR OUR SIBS Collective, we are committed and dedicated to a disability-justice space and COVID-19 consciousness.

• Masks are required
• Attendees are required to provide proof of a self-administered rapid antigen or PCR test
• Proper PPE will be provided
• Air purifiers will be present and provided
• Access: yes please have a wheelchair-accessible ramp in the back of the house. The back yard has inclines and declines (uneven plain).
