2023 has seen record-breaking numbers of anti-transgender legislation across the country, attacking mostly trans children in healthcare, schools, and sports. At least 44 states have introduced anti-trans bills. Given these attacks, the numerous public figures and politicians openly calling for our eradication, and anti-trans violence at an all-time high, we need the action of our allies.
Join Schuyler Bailar for a 2.5-hour seminar on activism for the trans community. The seminar will review (high-level) proposed legislation and provide fact-driven, evidence-based breakdowns of anti-trans rhetoric fueling the bills.
A GENDA: (1) Context, including a brief overview of anti-trans legislation; (2) Myth-busting of common anti-trans arguments, including providing fact- and evidence-based responses that allies can use in conversation; (3) Q&A. There will be a short 5-10 minute break during section (2) to ensure everyone can care for themselves as needed!
All are welcome, regardless of gender history. Cisgender (not transgender people) folks are strongly encouraged to attend, continuing their efforts to support trans and other marginalized folks during this time. Fellow trans folks are, of course, welcome; the seminar will help provide you with better tools to engage in conversations advocating for yourself.

Proceeds will be donated to organizations helping trans children and Palestinian children. Exact organization to be chosen.

Schuyler Bailar (he/him) is an internationally renowned inspirational speaker and inclusion advocate. As seen on The Ellen Show and The Olympic Channel, Schuyler was the first transgender athlete to compete on an NCAA D1 men’s team, competing for Harvard's winningest team in 50 years. He has given over 450 trans literacy and inclusion trainings across the country and beyond and brings this expertise to his seminar series.
