Training: Terraform Next Steps

Introduction:

This training session picks up where our basic Terraform course left off. If you already know how to run the basic plan and apply workflow we can help take you to the next level. We have plenty of experience of Terraform’s rough edges and how to smooth them out with lesser known features like Lifecycles, Meta Arguments and State manipulation.

We have created scenarios with the problems we see most often and give you a chance to actively troubleshoot and resolve them using what you have learned. If you ever get stuck our team will be there to ensure a supportive and collaborative environment.

Knowledge you will take away:

• Practical experience using Terraform’s less well known features
• The types of problems we commonly encounter and how to solve them
• Our opinions on how to get the most from Terraform

Who should attend?

DevOps Engineers, Systems Admins, Infrastructure Engineers that use Terraform frequently or anticipate using it more in the future.

If you have never used Terraform before, you may be more suited to our Terraform beginners class.

Prerequisites

You will need to be able to install and manage the following software on your device:

• Terraform
• AWS CLI
• tfenv (optional)

A final few things:

You will need to be able to run Terraform and Git commands.

Access to an AWS account will be provided.

The Zoom link will open at 09:30.

The workshop runs from 9:45 - 12:45 with a comfort break in between.
