We are delighted to be hosting guest examiner, Sensei Neil Jermore 6th Dan, who will run a training & kyu grading for us on 15 March 2025.Sensei Neil is an internationally-known instructor, most known for his style of karate instruction, which encourages the exploration of technique beyond basic form. Originally inspired by self-defence, he was quickly captivated by the technical rigour of karate and the challenge of competition. Over his karate career, he has trained and taught in countries around the world, taken classes in a range of martial arts, and continues to expand his understanding and love of shotokan through teaching at his club in Trondheim, Norway. He currently holds 6th Dan with the HDKI GB.
Saturday 15 March 2025
9.00am-9.15am: Registration for brown & black belts
9.15am-10.15am: Brown & black belts training
10.15am-10.30am: Registration for all grades course & grading – ideally register & pay in advance to save time on the day
10.30am-11.30am: All grades training
11.45pm-2.45pm: Kyu grading (Shotokan Connect students only)
Please pay in advance to speed up your registration on the day.
- TRAINING ONLY: £10 or included for Senshi Karate students who pay monthly for Saturdays or for all classes; non-members of Shotokan Connect welcome for the same price.
- TRAINING + KYU GRADING: £25 or £15 for Senshi Karate students who pay monthly for Saturdays or for all classes. Shotokan Connect members only. This includes your belt & certificate if you’re successful. You must train to grade.
- Make sure your licence with Shotokan Connect is in date. No licence, no grading!
- Parking: There is parking onsite. Remember, this venue is in the Ultra Low Emission Zone so check your car is compliant.
- Changing rooms: There are changing rooms onsite
- As is the custom, we will pop out after the grading for a lemonade or a half pint: Red Lion pub, 6 Red Lion Place, Shooters Hill, London SE18 3RN
