Breathing Performer is a physical training founded on rhythm and breath, and the relationship between them. Grounded strongly in specific physical principals and a system of expression, that is both passionate and playful, and seeks to release and extend the performer’s capabilities in fundamental areas of the craft of performance. By deepening our connection with the essential elements of rhythm and breath, the training aims to enhance and awaken creativity. The work is designed to develop and deepen an understanding of the ‘self' and allow for greater risks to be taken in the creative process as protagonist and as ensemble member.
In “Voice Tale (Spaeking Song)”, there is a focus on an exploration into our own voices and our voices reflected and fused in the voices of others; on the strength of standing confident with the sound of our own voice, exploring its richness and building the foundation to support it, through breath, physical support, imagination. Discovering its strength when appearing singly, and power when it adds to the richness of a common sound created by other voices.
The two lines of work with intertwine seamlessly to build towards a full and meaningful experience for the participants. Both Christopher and Ditte have been pedagogues for over 20 years and their work has been highly appreciated by so many.
