About this Event

Flagging in construction zones demands high levels of focus and caution. To become a certified Traffic Control Person (TCP), participants must complete this comprehensive 2-day training program. All attendees are required to wear CSA-approved steel-toe boots that offer ankle support during the training.

Important Note:
If you don’t have access to a vehicle, please be prepared for a 20–30-minute walk to the practical training site. In some cases, travel by SkyTrain may also be necessary.

Eligibility Requirements

To enroll in the course, participants must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Be physically capable of performing all course-related tasks
  • Have basic English communication skills
  • Present valid government-issued photo identification
  • No prior flagging or TCP training is required

Certification Details

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a three-year certification, recognized by WorkSafeBC as a High-Risk TCP certificate, qualifying them to work as a Traffic Control Person anywhere in British Columbia.

Certification is contingent upon passing both:

  • A multiple-choice exam (minimum passing score: 80%)
  • A practical assessment conducted on the road

Qualified candidates may be considered for immediate employment by Universal Flagging and GOtraffic Management.

This training runs for 16 hours over two days. Weekend options (Saturday and Sunday) are available.
