Traditional Woodworking: Make a Fireside Stool at Makespace Oxford
About this Event
Join Oxford-based furniture makers Andrew Joye and Ellis Stacey of Froe Studio for a day of traditional hand-tool woodworking.
Suitable for all, from complete beginners to confident improvers, this fun and relaxing course will introduce you to the core tools, skills and techniques of working with wood in its raw unseasoned form ("green" straight from the log).
Working as part of a small group, you will use a shavehorses, draw knives, spokeshaves and more to handmake a mortise and tenon jointed stool to take home and show off to your envious family and friends.
Perfect for perching by a cosy fire or resting feet and legs tired from an autumnal ramble.
All tools and materials are provided.
The course is taking place on Sunday 29 November at Makespace Oxfordshire (1 Aristotle Lane, OX2 6TP)
All participants must be 18+
