Leaded stained glass is one of the oldest forms of window making, going back over a thousand years. It predates the copper foil method by many centuries and is the technique used in the great cathedral windows of Europe. It’s known for its strength and bold, architectural look. In this class we’re using that same historic process adapted for smaller, modern designs. In this workshop Valerie will introduce you to that same historic process. You will create a 7” x 7” geometric leaded panel, framed in zinc metal with a pewter chain for hanging. You will learn how to cut and grind glass, cut lead, solder and assemble. The color scheme will be as in the photo, but you are free to decide color placement. All materials provided.
