Traditional Glass Melting & Shaping with Flame in Istanbul

You will discover the traditional glass shaping technique that dates back centuries.

We will melt and shape glass rods called efetre in a torch flame of approximately 1200 degrees.

This technique is called "Flame Shaping" or "Lamp Working".

Suitable for participants aged 6 and above.

You will work with the master artist and perhaps take your first steps in glass mastery here.

While you sip your coffee or tea our artist will explain how to shape glass in a flame demonstrate the use of the relevant tools and give two explanatory demonstrations.

Then it is your turn...

You will wear your work apron and protective glasses and make your first work with your form style and colors. Of course our artist and our sample works will always be with you

The object you make will be yours.

If you wish you can make more beads by paying an extra fee.

At the end of the work you can turn your work into a piece of jewelry if you wish.

The works are made in English and Turkish.

All materials are included in the participation fee.

The 2-person activity lasts 60 minutes the 4-person activity lasts 90 minutes.
