Traditional Broad Edge Calligraphy Workshop
This workshop is designed for beginners ready to start learning traditional calligraphy, as well as those with prior experience looking to expand their knowledge and skills.
In this 4-hour workshop students will be introduced to the essential skills and tools needed to build confidence with the broad edge pen or advance their current skills with more detailed instruction and critique. Students will be able to try a variety of inks, learn common terminology, and learn techniques for consistent lettering.
By the end of the workshop, student will have developed a solid foundation in traditional calligraphy and the practical skills to confidently continue lettering work.
About the Instructor
Rick has over 40 years of experience in calligraphy, both in professional practice and in teaching. He has a Certificate in Calligraphy from the University of Roehampton and two Honours Certifications from the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society. He currently contracts with the Government of Canada to update and maintain Canada's Books of Remembrance for Veterans Affairs Canada.
