About this Event
We’re bringing the LDN running community to the track!
LDN Run Club Track Tuesdays are free for everyone and designed to be a fun, welcoming place to run, move, and challenge yourself at your own level.
We’ll meet every Tuesday at the Mother Teresa High School Track for a coached track workout that is 100% doable for all fitness levels.
Never done a track workout before? No problem.
Feel nervous about keeping up? Don’t be.
Does the workout look a little intimidating? Coach Isaac will always help you find an option that works for you.
This is not about being the fastest person there.
It’s about showing up, doing your best, and being part of a positive community.
Expect good people, great energy, and workouts that can meet you where you’re at.
Training for HYROX? These workouts will be a great addition to your training too 😉
Free for everyone. All levels welcome. Good vibes only.
The May 12th Workout is:
Workout: 3 to 8 rounds
1:00 hard / 2:00 easy
This is a great workout for learning how to run fast without completely falling apart.
The 1-minute hard efforts are long enough that you have to actually run with control. You can’t fully sprint the whole thing, but you should still be moving at a strong pace that feels challenging.
The 2-minute easy recovery gives you more time to bring your breathing down, reset your form, and get ready to run hard again. Because of that extra recovery, most people should be able to make each hard rep a little more consistent and higher quality.
A few weeks ago, we did a similar workout with 1:00 hard / 1:00 easy.
That version is a little more demanding from a conditioning standpoint because the recovery is shorter. Your heart rate stays higher, your breathing doesn’t come down as much, and each round starts to feel harder pretty quickly.
This week’s version gives you more recovery, which means the goal shifts a bit.
Instead of just trying to survive the short recoveries, the focus is on running your hard minutes with better speed, better form, and more intention.
So yes, you get more rest.
But that doesn’t mean it’s easier.
It means you have a better chance to push the hard parts properly.
