Speedsportz is offering Coaching Lessons at $25 per session, or $60 for 30 minutes, ( 3 sessions). Coaching will include sideline and balcony observation of your driving line, and braking, turning, and accelerating points, with options for classroom instruction on how to better handle a car on the track as well as ride-alongs. Contact Track Casual if you'd like to reserve a Coaching Lesson for a portion of your track time. Coaching is available by appointment only and we cannot guarantee coaches will be available without prior notice. If Coaching becomes unavailable, we can credit or refund this portion of your purchase.
Event parking will be in the north and west lots accessible only by Hwy 242. The North lot is reserved for spectators. The west lot is a staging area for driving and support vehicles. Trailers and RVs are welcome. The east lot is reserved for kart rental customers and is accessible by Speed Street. We will not be using the east lot.
4pm to 10pm on Saturday
Gates open at 8am
Tech starts at 4:05pm
Once you are ready for tech, park along the chain link fence on the track side of the West lot with your trunks and hoods open. Once you have passed tech, line your car up along the fence side of the paddock (not along the garages, and please leave the gate areas open), and stage your chairs and things under the covered pit area, then wait in the shop storefront for the drivers' meeting. Please be courteous to other track users as they finish up their day.
MANDATORY DRIVERS MEETING AT 4:30pm.
If you miss the initial meeting you must be given a briefing before being allowed to enter the track. YOU MUST PASS TECH AND ATTEND A DRIVERS MEETING OR BRIEFING TO ENTER THE TRACK. Bypassing either will subject you to expulsion at management's discretion.
The first round of track time starts as close to 5pm as we can manage after the drivers meeting. One full sighting lap will be done to familiarize yourself with the track before we stage in the pit area and begin the sessions.
Sessions will be 10 minutes long with 10 to 15 cars per group. Cars will enter the track in delayed starts from the covered pit area. As soon as the last car from the ended session exits the track, the next session may begin, allowing for continuous sessions.
Break is at 7pm for 30 minutes.
This makeup allows for about 4 hours of track time!
The shaded pit area will be utilized for cool-down and staging between sessions, and vehicle check-ups, and where we'll be hanging out most of the night. Any repairs, tuning, or modifications must be moved to the West Lot. If you have to remove a part to adjust something, or need to add any fluids you must relocate to the West Lot. Bring your own shade, tools, and fuel for the West Lot. No fueling or changing of any fluids in the paddock or pit area!
Tech inspection includes but is not limited to:
Car must pass TX DOT safety inspection criteria in addition to:
No oil or coolant drips
No loose bodywork
No loose articles or interior pieces
No loose batteries or stereo equipment
No loose suspension or steering components
No straight piped cars. An appropriate muffler/sound-deadening device, and a fully sealed (without leaks) exhaust is required by TXDOT and Speedsportz. There will be a decibel meter on site to monitor noise levels.
All fluids and wearable items will be inspected for condition.
Your car MUST be ready for tech no later than 4:15 pm. If you arrive late and miss tech, you must attend the Driver's Meeting and wait for cars to finish their sight lap and begin the first session before your car will be inspected. Arrive early to swap tires and set up your pit area on your own time. The sooner we finish the tech inspections and the driver's meeting, the sooner everyone can get on the track. Unsafe vehicles will be failed and asked to leave or make repairs in the west lot. Passing a tech inspection will in no way guarantee your car's ability to handle the stresses of track driving and neither Speedstportz nor event staff will accept liability for any damages you incur.
Currently not required items but strongly recommended:
Rollbar/Rollcage
Helmet
Fireproof driver gear
Fire extinguisher
This is not a league or association sanctioned event and there will be no trophies, so please act and drive accordingly. Poor behavior on or off the track will be dealt with. A third offense will result in expulsion and nonrefundable entry fee. All tires must remain on track! If you overshoot and get off the track by even one tire or all 4 you will be told to drive more carefully. Brazen disregard for the grass and racing line will be dealt with appropriately. For this reason, drifting is no longer allowed and there will be no drift sessions for this event.
Spectators and camera crew may enter for free. Pit and paddock access are free. Camera crew and spectators are not allowed on track without official permission and escort.
