***Land Use Plan Update***Seeking public input on the Town of Ayden Land Use Plan Update
AYDEN RESIDENTS INVITED – In October 2024, Ayden town staff and Planning Board members began working on an update to the Town of Ayden Land Use Plan, in partnership with the Mid-East Commission Council of Governments.
A Land Use Plan is a formally adopted document that maps out a collective vision for the future of the town. A Land Use Plan also lays the groundwork for regulatory laws that govern govern development in a community, e.g. zoning ordinances and subdivision regulations. A Land Use Plan illustrates current uses of the land, as well as projected future uses. The Town of Ayden Land Use Plan will serve as a guide to the town’s growth over the next five to ten years.
The Planning Board asked for public input on issues, needs and opportunities related to community growth and development through a public survey (currently available at Town Hall, the Ayden Library, and online at www.AydenLandUsePlanSurvey.com).
The Planning Board is now seeking further public input at an Open House event.
As we plan for the future, we want to know what is important to you. Please join us for a Public Open House at the Second Street Community Building in Ayden on Tues. April 8, 2025. Drop in anytime from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
Draft vision and goals statements will be provided for public review, and the public will have a chance to provide input on the Future Land Use Map and community growth and development priorities. Public input will be used to inform the Town of Ayden Land Use Plan update.
