Roll on over and join us for some great fall fun! The Towanda Borough Recreation Committee will be hosting our annual Downhill Pumpkin Rolling Festival on Saturday, October 11th.
*The rolling will start at the intersection of Second Street and Maple street next to the library. The owner of the first pumpkin to make it to the bottom in one piece wins! All four finalists will receive a monetary prize. There is no age limit requirement! Heats will be separated into age groups; up to and including 4 years old, 5-8 years old, 9-12 years old, and 13 and up. The finalist in each age group will compete in the final race for the grand prize! The Recreation Committee will be providing the pumpkins at an entry fee of $3 per pumpkin.
*For all to enjoy, there will be food, ice cream, funnel cakes, treats, vendors, kid’s games, face painting, fall photo booth, handicapped accessible parking, bathroom capabilities, ample parking at The Methodist Church, 50/50 raffle, and much more!
*The festival will open at 2:30 pm. This time includes registration for the rolling contest, vendors, food, games, face painting, fall photo area, and 50/50 raffle.
*Availability of the pumpkins for the rolling contest is a first-come first-serve basis. Rolling will begin at 4:00.
*If you are interested or plan on coming, please respond to this event so we have an idea of how many pumpkins to purchase. Hope to see you there and happy rolling!
