Touring the Rumney Marsh Restoration Areas

Walk along the abandoned interstate highway embankment that changed Rumney Marsh.
Join RMC and Ed Reiner for an immersive tour of the marsh’s restoration history. Few people have had the chance to experience these sites with someone who knows their history so well, and this may be the first opportunity of its kind offered to the general public.
We’ll visit completed restoration sites, examine erosion and disrupted waterways, and look across the landscape at areas that may hold the greatest opportunities for future recovery.
The trail may be familiar to some, but this guided walk offers a much deeper understanding of the landscape beneath and around it.
NOTE: This walk starts at the BRISTOW ST entrance, located at 114 Bristow Street in Saugus. Ample parking is available in the gravel lot.
