Tour: Weekday Wander #7 to Black Ankle Vineyards

PCA-CHS 2026 Tour & Rally Event No. 14 – Thursday, Sept 17
In keeping with the theme of the weekday wander tours, we are going to drive some of the better roads of Howard, Carroll and Frederick counties and end at a destination that would typically limit our ability to accept registrations due to space. We will have a terrific drive, lunch, and optional wine tasting, and vineyard tour as described below.
The destination is Black Ankle Vineyard in Mt Airy, Maryland. Why Black Ankle? Kim and I have been a fan of this winery for many years. The wines are made with grapes grown only on the land owned by Black Ankle. The venue’s outdoor patio space and surrounding hills are a perfect place to enjoy a great glass of wine and lunch.
We will start in Ellicott City, MD for an approximate 60 mile drive through scenic parts of Howard, Caroll and Frederick counties. Once we arrive at the Winery, we will enjoy a buffet lunch, which includes a sandwich, salads, and dessert. After lunch, you can go on a vineyard tour. Wine tastings and wine by the glass or bottle will be available for purchase. Please note that you must be 21 years old or older to attend this event.

Sandwich
Muffuletta- Olive tapenade, strachiatella, N'Duja, Mortadella, Salami, wild flower honey
Salads
Macaroni salad- Italian Herb dressing, salami, tomato, gundilla peppers, Olives
Garden salad- Fennel, tomato, onion, seasonal vegetables, seasonal lettuce
Dessert
Seasonal, House made cookies/bars
