Tour Pollock -Krasner Home/Studio in the Hamptons & Green River Cemetery
About this Event
TOUR THE HOME & ARTIST STUDIO BARN OF JACKSON POLLOCK & LEE KRASNER FOLLOWED BY A TRIP TO THE GREEN RIVER CEMETERY
Abstract Expressionist artist couple Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner moved to the Springs section of East Hampton to get away from city life and establish an artist community, including the de-Koonings and others. Their simple cottage (originally financed by art patron Peggy Guggenheim) is just as they left it with Pollock's barn steps away from the house. Wear protective booties in the barn studio and see all the spills and splatters beneath your feet! Included is a tour about Pollock and Krasner from their personal lives to great careers.
Then it is a very short drive to the Green River Cemetery where both artists are buried. This small cemetery is known for its many artists, art critics and writers buried there from Pollock and Krasner to Stuart Davis, Elaine de Kooning, Frank 0'Hara, James Brooks, Harold Rosenberg, Perle Fine and more.
