Day-Tripper: Oxford Waterside Stroll - 15km - Moderate - 11am
About this Event

Explore, create, and connect in nature's boundless playground. Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.

We’re exploring Oxford’s scenic spring nature on a diverse walk along historic streets, quiet canals, grand parks, and the Thames Path, starting and ending right from Oxford train station. Enjoy an adventure through the iconic city and landscape that has inspired authors, poets, and artists for hundreds of years. This is a good longer walk for beginners as it is all over flat ground.

The walk will be led by Walcott, they are outdoor first aid trained.

About Touch Grass

Touch Grass is an outdoor community for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour.

We are committed to fostering community growth through outdoor gatherings and wellness-focused trips that encourage us to rekindle our relationship with nature. Our immersive experiences go beyond relaxation — they're about empowerment, healing, and forging meaningful connections.

Our vision is for queer people of colour to see the outdoors as a space where we belong. A 2020 report by Friends of the Earth found that nearly 40% of people from minority ethnic backgrounds in England live in the most green space-deprived neighbourhoods, compared with only 14% of white people — and that people from minority ethnic backgrounds are significantly less likely to spend time in the countryside than white people. We want to change this. We deserve joyful, safe access to the emotional well-being and physical health benefits of nature too.

We believe creativity and nature go hand in hand, which is why most of our events encourage you to embrace nature and your inner creative spirit.
