Prepare yourself for the 2024 Tots-Giving Extravaganza! Unleash your creativity with your finest Tater Tot-inspired dish this year and bask in the glory of winning not only bragging rights but also taking home the Tots-Giving Trophy of Champions to proudly display with your other major awards. The Tots-Giving Trophy of Champions is a custom-made, tots-inspired silver chalice overflowing with God’s Gift to humanity.
For the uninitiated, Tots-Giving is the annual celebration of the tater tot, and for many of us, it is the first holiday of the holiday season. Tots-Giving is a family-friendly gathering where we eat, drink, visit with friends, and compete for the coveted title of Top-Tot. 2024 marks the 7th anniversary of Tots-Giving and the first to be held at a venue other than our home on O’Day St. This year; we will be hosting at the Clubhouse at Viking Lakes Residence!

Timing:
5:30 Doors open to the masses
6:00 Competition tots to be ready for judging
9:00 Awards ceremony. Crowning of the Top-Tot
10:00 That’s a wrap!!
How Tots-Giving competition works:
1. Create a dish that uses Tator tots as one of the ingredients.
2. To submit your dish, please email us at
[email protected] or reach out to us on Facebook. We
will send you an official registration form to collect
information about your dish. If you prefer to keep your dish a
secret until the event, you can register upon your arrival.
3. Ensure that your dish is ready by 6 pm for the judging tables.
Your submission should include the name and description of
the dish, as well as the category you wish to enter.
Everyone plays a part as a JUDGE!!
Upon arrival, everyone will be given a voting card that they will use to vote for their favorite dishes. There are two general categories, sweet or savory, either of which can win as Top-Tot. Separate prizes will be awarded for each category. As a voting judge, it is your sole responsibility to pick your favorite dishes; don’t let those overly competitive types strong-arm or persuade you into voting for their dish. Over the years, competitors have used all sorts of shenanigans in desperate attempts to win.
General participation and fun!
Everyone's participation, in whatever form, makes Tots-Giving a genuinely inclusive and enjoyable event. If you are not interested in participating in the competition, we still encourage you to bring a Tator Tot-inspired dish to share. If you are not into cooking, that’s OK too, so bring whatever you like. Tots-Giving celebration always elicits a thirsty crowd, and we do our best to provide some basics in the beverage department; we encourage those with specific tastes to bring their favorite beverage for themselves and others if they so desire.
