Event OverviewJoin us for Totally in Tango – Freiburg 2026, an unique weekend dedicated to double-role Argentine Tango — where all participants are invited to explore leading and following with freedom, connection, and joy. This is an open-role dance weekend with workshops, milongas, shared dinners, and shared dance experiences in one of Freiburg’s most welcoming tango spaces.

• 19:30 – 01:00 Milonga with DJ Marion (mostly traditional)
Saturday, 30 May
• 10:30 – 13:30 Open drop-in workshop with Sepideh Saeb
• 14:00 – 19:00 Milonga with DJ Rainer (mostly traditional)
• 19:00 – 21:00 Shared dinner at a nearby Italian restaurant (meal included into the event price)
• 21:00 – 02:00 Milonga with DJ Nico Locca (mostly traditional)
Sunday, 31 May
• 11:30 – 13:00 Open drop-in workshop with Francesco
• 13:30 – 18:30 Milonga with DJ Ulla (traditional)
• 20:30 – 23:30 Afterparty with DJ Julija (mostly traditional), open to local El Corazón members
Snacks and drinks are available throughout the weekend.
Note: meals cannot be served or eaten in the dance venue itself
Workshops & Learning
Workshops are open drop-in style, suitable for all levels.
This double-role tango weekend features two experienced teachers, each bringing a distinct focus to the learning experience. All workshops are double-role and designed for dancers to comfortably explore both leading and following.
Friday & Sunday – Francesco Gatti
Francesco leads the workshops on Friday and Sunday, focusing on open-role tango, connection, musicality, and social floor awareness. His teaching supports dancers in developing clarity, adaptability, and ease in both roles within a shared, inclusive learning space.
Friday Workshop:
In a new dance encounter, we quite often fall into the same “old” patterns or become frustrated for recurring reasons. In this welcome workshop, we apply methods of transparency and a culture of feedback to approach new dance encounters: fearless and with curiosity.
Sunday Workshop:
Multiple role switches within a single song are technically no big problem for us double-role dancers, and they seem to become easier the more quickly they happen. But how can role switching become a true pleasure in itself? This workshop will take a closer look at the transition phase of role switching and we explore how to keep the adventurous flow of the dance while staying especially attentive to our dance partner.
Saturday – Sepideh Saeb
Sep takes on the Saturday workshop, focusing on:
Rhythmic Elements & Simple Sacadas for Small Spaces
This workshop is ideal for dancers who want more rhythmic variety on crowded floors. You’ll explore rebote variations, simple rhythmic tools, and practical sacadas that can be danced comfortably in limited space
