Toronto Garlic Festival

Ontario's garlic harvest takes over historic Allan Gardens for a free, full-day celebration marking the festival's 15th anniversary. Set beside the landmark 1910 Palm House conservatory, the day puts Canadian farmers and food producers front and centre: Ontario growers with dozens of hardneck strains and fermented black garlic, small-batch producers with garlic-forward preserves and black-garlic desserts, and local breweries, wineries and distilleries pouring Ontario pints and glasses. Artisan makers round out the market with handmade garlic-themed goods.
Beyond the food, expect culture talks, live music, children's activities, the Garlic Poet Laureate, and cult favourites like the Garlic Bulb Cracking Contest, Vampire Costume Contest, and Garlic Breath Contest. Come hungry — and leave with something to plant.
