Toronto Camino Preamble - Day 2

We’re hosting another Toronto Camino Preamble! You can treat it as simply two days of walking together, or you can take a few steps to have it earn you a Canadian Compostela that will be recognized in Spain as “distance” on your Camino. Walking two 15 km days in a row is a great training experiment to see if you like multi-day hiking. If you wear a full backpack, even better! Each day is will include a coffee-washroom break.
To earn the Canadian Compostela, you must:
- be a current CCoP member ($10/year, join at santiago.ca
- walk the full distance, both days
- collect stamps in a CCoP credential ($5, will be for sale Saturday morning)
Sunday - meet back at St. James Cathedral where we ended on Saturday. We’ll leave at 9am-ish. Please note there will be a mass starting at 9, so please be quiet if you are in the lobby and try not to block the entrance. There is a washroom in the basement of the church that we can use. We will get a stamp here before we leave. We’ll walk north for a short visit inside the beautiful Metropolitan United Church, home of the largest pipe organ in Canada. From there we will continue north through the city to enter the ravines at Bloor St, and stop at the Brickworks for coffee and another stamp. After coffee we will walk east through green spaces north of O’Connor, coming out at Main St. We’ll walk south to end at Beach United Church. We will get our last stamp here!
Everyone is invited to have lunch at Wild Oregano after the last stamp. If you think you will want to go for lunch, let us know so we can give the restaurant an estimate
