About this Event
Learn all about the native trees that will enhance your yard with colour and texture, add privacy and shade, and attract birds and pollinators.
Join Credit Valley Conservation’s garden experts for a walk around the library grounds to see and learn about the best native trees for your yard.
Invite a neighbour to attend with you!
This workshop is designed for urban residents living in , but anyone is welcome to join.
Consider walking, wheeling or taking public transit to this event.
What to Wear
- This event will be held outdoors. In the case of extreme weather, it will be moved indoors. Dress for the weather and conditions.
What to Bring
- Your own reusable water bottle.
- Sunscreen and bug spray.

2026 Neighbourhood Tree Giveaway
CVC's home planting team will deliver and help plant a free tree to homeowners on less than one acre in Acton SNAP, Mississauga’s Cooksville SNAP, Georgetown’s Hungry Hollow SNAP, Brampton’s Fletchers Creek SNAP and Community Tree Project neighbourhoods. Limit of one free tree per household in 2026. Check your eligibility and learn more.

Sara Maedel draws on over 15 years’ worth of experience working with native plants to help urban residents create and maintain sustainable landscapes that support a healthy environment.
