April 11–12, we’re taking over Miller Ranch in Cheney for the inaugural Bear Paw Poker Hunt. This is a 3-man, 2-dog team shootout where your bird dog does the work and your poker hand does the talking.
THE MISSION:
This is upland hunting with a high-stakes twist. We’re releasing 35 banded birds across 7 fields—each band corresponds to a card in a 52-card deck. You’ll draw a shell to determine your field at random, then head out to "hunt for your hand." Whether you're flushing an Ace or a Full House, may the best hunter/dog combo win.
THE STAKES
- The Payout: The grand champion team walks away with **50% of the pot** and the "Rusty Rooster" trophy.
- Top Gun Status: We’re testing your marksmanship with a strict **5-shell limit** per hunter.
- The Cause:** 50% of the total pot goes directly to Bear Paw Camp Ministries, supporting our mission while you hunt.
THE RANCH EXPERIENCE
We’ve built this weekend for the hunters who live for the field and the fellowship that comes after the gear is stowed.
-The Grub:We’re keeping you fueled with a smoked brisket and burger BBQ lunch, plus a full camp-wide dinner Saturday night.
- The Fellowship: Saturday wraps with a message from Jason McQuinn and campfire fellowship. Sunday morning kicks off with "Church at the Ranch" before the top 3 teams head out for the Final Brace.
- The Setup: Dry camping is available for those staying overnight. Between waves, we’ve got raffles, cornhole, and the auction paddles open.
**REGISTER NOW**
We only have 21 team spots available. To stack the deck in your favor, teams can register up to 3 times to increase their odds at the pot.
