After a year of TONIC, we are thrilled to be putting on our first tour and inviting Australian producer Insula to Aotearoa for their first tour of Aotearoa, playing five shows in Te-Ika-a-Māui.Insula operates at the intersection of brutal electronics, live violin, and real-time audiovisual systems. Built from resynthesis, distortion, and physical performance, the project treats the body as both instrument and controller. Recent shows expand into live collaboration with visual artist Niph, forming immersive environments where sound and image evolve together in tightly coupled feedback.
Hasji [pronounced "HA" breathe out - "SHEE” continue breathing out] is a gorge bootist based in Central, Tāmaki Makaurau, in Aotearoa. They come from Te Arawa, thru the hapū of Ngāti Whakaue and Ngāti Rangiwewehi, as well as the Shoebridge whānau of Devon and Sharp whānau of Shropshire in England. Their oro is a reflection of their attempts to speak to the base rhythms that are tucked away in the overstimulated structures of city lifestyles and the framework of te taiao - climbing from grounded dubs to high altitude jittas.
Gorge is a style of music with roots in Nepal, India and Japan, that follows three rules:
1. Use toms
2. Call it Gorge
3. Don't call it art
Kraus (aka Pat Kraus) (he/him) is a producer of psychedelic music from Aotearoa/New Zealand. Since the turn of the millennium he has released 20 solo albums on labels such as Ultra Eczema and Soft Abuse, and performed in a dozen bands. His recent synth-heavy work melds sci-fi sound-design and hypnotic polyrhythms to create new forms of head-spinning electronic music.
Within Aotearoa’s electronic community, Ludus has carved a distinct path through her ever-evolving practice as an avid sound designer and producer. With a knack for merging unexpected textures and rhythms, her production and DJing explores the range between ambient stillness and club intensity, where broken percussion and high frequency textures converge.
