Rinpoche has trained under some of the most important Buddhist teachers of our time. He is a highly regarded practitioner and teacher of Dzogchen, who is known for his dedication to his students.
Chamtrul Rinpoche Lobsang Gyatso is the recognized reincarnation of the second Chamtrul Rinpoche, Pema Nangsal Dorje of Mardo Tashi Choling Monastery in Tibet, who was the holy incarnation of the Kathok Chamtrul Kunzig Dorje. Rinpoche was conferred the title of “khenpo” by his root guru Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche at Larung Gar Buddhist Institute after many years of rigorous studies.
Since 1999 Rinpoche has been based in Dharamsala, India where he runs the Bodhicitta Dharma Center. Dedicating his life to helping people find inner peace, he spends much of the year traveling around the world to spread the Dharma wherever requested and has been teaching for over 20 years to thousands of monks and lay people at numerous Buddhist institutes in India and throughout the world. Through his invaluable knowledge and practical advice, Rinpoche compassionately guides his students towards ultimate peace and happiness.
