Cost: $50 per 4-week sessionWhen: Tues. June 2, 9, 16, 23 | 6–8 p.m.
Where: SVA Gallery, 534 South Pier Drive
Ages 16+
Bring your own materials: Oil paints (titanium white, black, yellow ochre, raw umber, burnt sienna, green, blue, red), brushes, brush cleaner, palette, and a 9 x 12 canvas or similar surface.
Note: May session uses a limited palette (white, black, yellow ochre, raw umber, burnt sienna, blue).
SVA Artist Brain Stuart will be guiding the process of still life painting using the “Tonal Impressionist” method. Brain will paint along with students for the first 4-week session (in May) providing direction & feedback. During the second 4-week session (in June) students can bring their own reference photo, or paint along with Brian on the next presentation. Cost is $50/4-week session. This workshop is for Beginners to advanced, take either or both.
2nd Session: June. Each student can bring a photo of a particular still life they would like to paint or paint from a new set-up for 4 weeks.
