Join us for the seventh convening in a series of discussions exploring the possibility of establishing a countywide minimum wage in Tompkins County.

Depending on the level of increase, the wages of many thousands of workers could be increased by a countywide minimum wage. Increased income could help them avoid or cope better with crises related to health, housing, and transportation, support their families better, and spend more at local businesses. It may also make it easier for them to be productive workers. How would a countywide minimum wage affect workers, in and out of work? This session will include low-wage workers and representatives of unions and the Tompkins County Worker Center. This convening is part of a broader effort to bring together workers, employers, community organizations, researchers, and policymakers to better understand the economic realities facing residents of Tompkins County. We welcome anyone interested in labor, economic policy, community wellbeing, and fair wages to participate.
