In Big Band history, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra is recognized as one of the best all-around bands. It could swing with the best of them, and no other band could come close to Tommy's when it came to playing ballads, especially when they were sung by a young Frank Sinatra. Now under the direction of trombonist Jeff Bush (Harry Connick Jr alum), today's TDO carries on the tradition by playing the biggest hits such as Opus One, Song Of India and Marie. Going far beyond a "tribute" show, The TDO includes fresh, new arrangements of entertaining material that fits the swinging Dorsey tradition.
The amazing vocal tradition of The TDO continues with vocalist Hayden Grove. You may know him as the Cleveland-based crooner from Team Adam on Season 27 of The Voice, but Hayden Grove has spent his life working tirelessly to become one of his many idols -- Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Michael Bublé, Elvis Presley and Harry Connick Jr. After spending hours listening, studying and performing their music, he's become all of them in one. Putting together high-volume, high-energy shows across the country, Grove has played everything from theaters and nightclubs to entertainment districts and vineyards, putting his immense passion for the Great American Songbook on display in every performance. He'll continue to chase his unmatched passion for performing the standards and hopes to keep the music alive and fresh for generations to come.
