Tommaso Girotto in concert : All in Twighlight

The Hobart Guitar Society is delighted to present acclaimed classical guitarist Tommaso Girotto in recital this March.

Tommaso Girotto is admired for his rare combination of poetic sensitivity and superb technical command. His playing is distinguished by a beautifully refined tone, deep musical insight, and a natural sense of phrasing that brings each work vividly to life.

The program takes its title from “All in Twilight” by Tōru Takemitsu, a composer celebrated for his subtle blending of Eastern and Western traditions. Inspired by the Japanese concept of ma — the expressive use of silence and space — this evocative four-part work unfolds with gentle harmonies and softly shifting colours, creating a calm and atmospheric sound world.

“All in Twilight” captures perfectly the mood of the afternoon: music of delicacy, intimacy and imagination, performed by one of today’s most compelling young guitarists.
