🚒10:00 am - Annual 4th of July Parade - "America the First 250 Years"
🚨NEW THIS YEAR, the parade will be themed and judged! In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the declaration of independence, this year's parade has a theme: "America the First 250 Years". Sponsored by the Tomah Area Historical Society and Museum. When registering your parade entry, please select if you will or will not take part in the judging contest. Please register by June 29, 2026.
⭐Date & Time of Parade: Saturday, July 4th, 2026 | 10:00am
⭐Parade Location: Downtown - Superior Ave, Tomah
⭐Parade Route: Start at Nott Street (Tomah Museum), travel south down the north-bound lane of Superior Avenue, ending at Holton Street (Gillett Park).
⭐Parade Entry Registration is FREE!: Please register by Monday, June 29, 2026, at https://bit.ly/4thofjulytomah2026
⭐Parade line-up: 9:00am to 9:45am at the Tomah Middle School (Enter line-up off Hollister Ave. Instructions will be emailed to parade entries)
⭐Quiet Safe Zone: Will be located at the Tomah Museum parking lot for individuals with neurodiverse issues with loud sounds. For parade entries: NO MUSIC OR LOUD SIRENS on West Nott Street until after turning onto Superior Avenue.
🚨Judging Contest: Entry Guidelines, Rules, and Prizes:
Entry Guidelines & Rules:
🔹All participating entries are to be themed on a historical event in the last 250 years (but not to include current political events).
🔹Floats must have signage on all sides displaying the historical event that is being depicted and group participating.
🔹Walkers in costumes of historical nature.
🔹School and other bands must play music not just cadence.
🔹No music or loud sirens on West Nott Street until after turning on Superior Ave. There will be a dedicated "quiet safe zone" area at the Tomah Museum parking lot for individuals with neurodiverse issues with loud sounds.
🚨Judging:
All entries will be judged while passing the parking lot of the Tomah Museum facing West Nott Street. The judges are sponsored by the Tomah Museum. There will be judges walking the routes and any band not playing music will be disqualified from judging. Judges understand there will be no music playing in front of the Tomah Museum parking lot to respect the Quiet Safe Zone.

Prizes will be given for:
🔹Most creative historically depicted event.
🔹Most original walking costumes.
🔹Bands playing appropriate music of historic significant.
