Join other local Tolkien fans for a chill meetup in the park. Hang out and play games, compete in contests of skill, show off your trivia knowledge, and share your deep dives into the lore. There may even be a secret surprise for those who are especially keen-eyed and sharp-witted. Costumes are highly encouraged but not required. (But how often do you get a chance to bust out those hairy Hobbit feet and Wizard hats? Never often enough.) Bring your Tolkien tabletop games if you’d like to share. I’ll have Trivial Pursuit and my homemade LOTR-edition Clue.
No food or drinks will be provided or available nearby so please bring your own picnic lunch and beverages. (No alcohol allowed in the park.) There is a fireplace and plenty of picnic tables.
Please share to help spread the word and have as many Tolkien fans there as possible. The more the merrier! (The fewer the pippiner.)
NOTE:
*Be sure you have the right Taylorsville Metropark. There are four separate parks within two miles of each other. The meetup is at Taylorsville Metropark EAST, address 2101 US-40, Vandalia, Ohio.
*Wheelchair users may need assistance on the sloped gravel path from the parking lot to the shelter.
*Please do not park on the grass. There is overflow parking available down the road in both directions. If there’s no more parking available in the main lot, message me and we can try to work out transportation.
*Date is subject to change based on weather.
*Location is subject to change based on amount of public response. If I feel like there will be too many attendees for Taylorsville to accommodate, I might move the event to John Bryan State Park.
