Event Details:
Join Tokyo Expat Social Club for an in-person discussion night at Hibiya Park.
This month’s discussion is inspired by Barbie and the questions it raises about adulthood, identity, expectations, gender, ambition, beauty, success, and the lives we’re told we’re supposed to want.
You don’t need to be a film expert, and this is not a formal analysis session. The movie is simply a starting point for a relaxed, thoughtful group conversation about the pressures people grow up with, the roles we perform, and what it means to build a life that actually feels like our own.
We’ll talk about adulthood, self-image, relationships, success, independence, social expectations, and the strange gap between the life we imagine and the life we actually end up living.
This event is guided, but low-pressure. You’re welcome to speak, listen, reflect, or simply join the conversation at your own pace.
Many attendees usually come solo, and first-timers are very welcome.
