This event will feature presentations by Dr. Amber Pearson from the Study of Active Neighborhoods in Detroit (StAND), Diane Cheklich from the Detroit Bird Alliance, and Stefany Washington who will teach us how to navigate funding applications. Lunch will be provided.Highlights of the event include:

• Guest Speakers: Hear about the benefits of nature and its role in ecological restoration, the importance of remaining active, how to pursue more ecological restoration within your community, and the birds and other wildlife positively impacted by ecological restoration.
• Research Presentation: Learn about the results of the recent study conducted in Detroit on the positive effects of park restoration on physical activity.
• Networking Opportunity: Meet with representatives from agencies and organizations that can help guide you in potential neighborhood actions you want to take. Whether you're interested in volunteering, starting a local project, or learning more about neighborhood projects, this is a great opportunity to connect with experts and find support.
