We are so excited to finally be ready to promote our event on March 7th! This is our first round of information, and we will share more soon! In the meantime, please help us share and get the word out, and SELL TICKETS! Purchase tickets here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/ticketing/together-for-paws-and-people
We have held this event for the past two years, and we have learned a lot! We are working hard to make this year even better!
We need to charge a bit for tickets, to cover our expenses, but we really wanted to keep it as family-friendly as possible! We hope that $10 is fair (or of course, we gladly accept more if you're so inclined!). Any amount raised beyond expenses will go towards our community spay and neuter subsidies.
WHEN: March 7th, 11am-3:30 (Silent Auction will close at 2:30!)
WHERE: the beautiful venue in the Cooper Centre, the Headquarters of SRD K9s! Address: #101 - 780 Windsor Avenue (lower side of the building where 8th Street Pharmacy and Angry Otter Liquor Store operates).
WHO is putting this on:
Four Paws is hosting, in collaboration with Sammy's Forgotten Felines, ElderDog Canada Kamloops, Eden's Way Farm Sanctuary, and SRD K9s! Our agenda is packed with incredible talks (led by Tara Holmes), where we will hear from each of our animal-centric community-service charities, plus some of our businesses and pet professionals. People who commit their lives to making the community (and world!) better for pets and their people.
WHO is this for:
We believe this is of interest to anyone who is a passionate pet guardian and animal lover! We also want to shine a light on everyone who we are not able to include in our packed agenda (this time!).
WHAT is the Agenda:
~ part conversation (planned talks led by Tara Holmes),
~ part fundraiser for several local charities, including a silent auction, and
~ part connection and togetherness!
WHY: Charities often work alone with a small number of volunteers carrying many common roles, including fundraising and recruitment for volunteers. And we come up against common challenges. This event enables us to do some heavy lifting TOGETHER, and remember that we aren't alone. We have an incredible community!
We also recognize that donors may not be clear on how our mandates are separate AND complimentary, and the effort we make to collaborate without overlapping. This is an opportunity for donors to learn more, to help decide which charity (or which several charities) best align for their donor dollars AND which charity to volunteer with! We want ALL of us to succeed in our missions!
FUTURE: we want this to grow, and become more inclusive of other great charities and professionals! In the meantime, we are making an effort to get this off the ground and prove the model!
PLEASE HELP SHARE THIS, and help us sell tickets!
NOTE: We will all be at the Blazers game on February 14th so you can talk to any of us at our tables, we'll have a poster and you can purchase tickets through the QR Code! You will also start seeing posters at our local animal-centric businesses!
