Tocadisco w/ Dj Garth
About this Event
Saturday, November 21st, Tocadisco takes over Mad Oak in Oakland for an evening dedicated to the art of DJing the way it started — two turntables, a stack of records and a dance floor.
This edition welcomes a true piece of San Francisco dance music history:
DJ GARTH — WICKED / GRAYHOUND RECORDINGS
A co-founder of San Francisco’s legendary Wicked Sound System, Garth helped shape the sound and culture of the West Coast underground beginning in the early ’90s. Wicked’s infamous Full Moon parties, renegade outdoor gatherings and road trips aboard their 1947 Greyhound bus became part of Bay Area dance music folklore and helped put San Francisco on the international house music map.
Behind the decks, Garth has never been about staying inside one lane. Expect a deep trip through House, Disco, Acid House, Electro, Funk, Cosmic grooves and psychedelic dance-floor cuts — selected from decades spent digging, collecting and moving dance floors around the world.
Joining Garth are Tocadisco residents Nesto Fuentez & Hector Perez, setting the tone and carrying the music from afternoon into the night.
No laptops. No shortcuts. Just records, selectors and good music.
