To the Ends of the Verse @ Cafe Gummo - June

Hello friends!
Welcome to TTEOTV - now in it's 14th year of holding space for orators & poets, tellers of stories, singers of songs, deliverers of rhymes, slingers of syntax, and wandering wordsmiths who weave worlds of wonders! We hope you can join us!
Both April and May were most epic. Lets show June what it's all about!
As there were more poets than spaces in May we have decided to change things around a bit and allow up to 10 poets in each set. As we want to give everyone a go, poets are encouraged to keep each set under ten minutes if possible.
Our middle section with O'Stranger-Tang & Nico will be a extended, and the last band set is optional - depending on what time everything wraps up.
Times are rough guides.
6.30: Doors Open - Mingle with the community
7.20: Intro
7.30: First Set of Spoken-Word (up to 10 poets)
8.30: Break
8.45: Nico aka FLASH POETRY and O’Stranger-Tang
9.00: Band Stop
9.15: Second Set of Poets (10, again)
10.30: Break
Potential End of the night jam with Nico and O’Stranger-Tang until late.
Following Our music section is continues little evolution...
"Flash Poetry + the unbeatable live band of jazz pirates in O'STRANGER-TANG bring you the freestyle jam of your dreams!
Calling all freestylers, singers and vocalists of all kinds to come revel in the glory of live improvisation and find out what happens when we step out of our comfort zone and into the realm of spontaneous self-expression. A positive, open and supportive environment for us to come together and create something beautiful.
Hosted by local freestyle wizard Flash Poetry, The Ends of the Verse jam instalments just got even juicier!"
Celebrating community and togetherness in these tough times has never been more important - and sharing stories together is something humans have been doing forever.
We will also be doing another round of BOOK RAFFLE - with books being donated by Scriveners Inklings.
Tickets will be available on the door and throughout the night.
Sign up to the open mic by sending us a Facebook or Instagram message. You can also put your name down on the sign up sheet at the door when you turn up. But as last month was so popular - get in early!
Tickets: We will be taking donations at the door which go toward making this gig happen each month. We will be passing around a money bin and there is digital available. We recommend at least $5, as this REALLY helps us all dedicate our time to putting on this incredible event.
Access: Cafe Gummo has a portable ramp for the front door step that can be put in place when requested. The inside of the building is all on one level, with the stage on the left when entering. There is a long hallway and step free access to an accessible toilet in the back garden.
There are gender neutral toilets with stalls or urinals, plus the accessible toilet.
The audience tends to be attentive to the open mic poets so the poets voice in the microphone is the main sound. The band sets are quite loud as there are drums and amplifiers, plus multiple vocalists on microphones. The back garden is available for those not keen on the noise.
As this is an open mic event, we do not know the content that will be shared on the night. People of all ages are welcome to share something on the open mic.
We ask that you do not attend our event if you have any cold or flu symptoms. Even if it is not covid, it can still be contagious and we can care for each other by minimising the spread of viruses.
Come solo or invite your mates, either way we do look forward to seeing you really soon!
And finally this needs to be said - racism, sexism, bullying, harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. We are a community that cares for each other and will promptly ban anyone who cannot adhere to showing kindness to all attendees.
