To Sustainability and Beyond: Developing Green Venture Practices

Now more than ever, understanding and implementing sustainable practices is essential for responsible business. Join us for a two-part workshop session designed to provide you with practical skills and insights on sustainability essentials. Each session focuses on key areas of sustainable practices, applicable to business, projects, and life.

Session 1: Carbon Reduction Fundamentals

Join the Scotland’s International Environment Centre team as they take you through an interactive workshop that helps to put carbon emissions into context and explore practical solutions for environmental gain. Attendees will be invited to work as a team to come up with suitable actions the student union can take to drive down the emissions they are responsible for and also promote more sustainable action across the university as a whole.

During this session, you will:

• Develop a clear understanding of carbon reduction and its importance.
• Identify practical solutions for lowering emissions.
• Explore ways to encourage sustainable behavior within teams and communities.

Session 2: Circular Economy Fundamentals

In this hands-on workshop discover how circular economy principles can transform businesses by eliminating waste, extending product life, and creating new opportunities. Designed for early-stage entrepreneurs and those looking to innovate, this session will introduce real-life case studies and collaborativr “what-if” brainstorming exercises. Participants will develop ideas to begin integrating circular economy principles into their ventures.

During this session, you will:

• Learn the core principles of the circular economy.
• Explore case studies and participate in brainstorming activities on circular solutions.
• Identify actionable steps to incorporate circular economy practices into your business or project.

This session is intended for University of Stirling and Forth Valley College staff, students and alumni and those who reside or have a business in the Forth Valley area. Please note if you do not meet that criteria, your ticket may be cancelled.
