Dedicated to 1st Lt Travis Manion, USMC, the Travis Manion WOD (Workout Of the Day) is designed to bring veterans, families of the fallen and the TMF community together to honor our fallen heroes. CrossFit boxes, GORUCK clubs, and gyms throughout the country host the WOD and individuals participate virtually from their garages and front lawns. This strenuous workout is a yearly reminder that we can push harder, go further, and be stronger to honor the heroes who have gone before us.
As always - ALL ARE WELCOME! - AT NO COST.
This route is family and pet (leashed) friendly.
- No weight requirement, rucks not required.
- ALL ruck levels welcome!
- 1st step to rucking is walking.
- Always carry water & and shaded headgear!
- Know your hydration and nutritional needs!

RUCK•ING [VERB] // Walking with a weighted rucksack (aka backpack). It implies action, energy, and purpose. Rucking requires strength, endurance, and character -- and builds it, too.
ABOUT THE SAN DIEGO TRITON RUCK CLUB:
• A club/community for “weirdos” interested in walking and rucking for general fitness and training for ruck/walk/run races, OCR’s, and GORUCK events. Also - for just hanging out with decent people. Feel free to post meet-ups, gatherings, and training opportunities.
• Established in San Diego in 2019, we ruck and have club events all over the Southern California region.
• 🚶♀️If you can walk, you can ruck!🏃♀️
• ALL MEMBERS are welcome to call for a ruck or a workout. Set out a call here as you’ve already got a captive audience who has similar interests with you!!
• Don’t be intimidated or think SDTRC events are inclusive or limited to the UC San Diego area. Members live all over the San Diego County and SoCal. Someone is always up for a ruck or a workout! Feel free to post your meet-up plans area wide!
• There are no club fees, or initiations. All are welcome, all the time. Any required or suggested event details will be posted in advance.
• Each person carries the ruck and weight with which they are most comfortable.
