𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘
What initially appears as a symbiosis gradually reveals itself as a complex system of two entities continuously negotiating the conditions of coexistence. The bond between them is tissue; a substance that supports, connects, bears loads, becomes damaged, heals, and transforms. Its properties serve as a point of departure for observing relationships across different levels of life's organization – from the cell and the human being to society.
Here, tissue is understood not merely as a biological structure, but as a relationship. It does not exist within the individual; rather, it emerges through connections that place individual parts within something larger than themselves. Biological and social tissue differ primarily in scale, not in their underlying principles of operation.
Throughout the performance, the perspective shifts from small to large, from cell to human being, from human being to society. What at first seems to be a process belonging to two bodies gradually reveals mechanisms of which we ourselves are a part. In this way, Tissue opens questions of how to coexist and how every movement of an individual part inevitably alters the functioning of the whole.
