“Marks’ unpredictable style nail-guns her listeners to the edge of their seats.” Matty Bannond, New York City Jazz Record
"Hear Out My Everything" is the manifestation of Hannah Marks' 2026 Jazz Gallery Residency Commission. The new music, spelling "H.O.M.E.", was formed during Marks' frequent travels and efforts to find comfort while away from her own home. The debut of this new quartet exemplifies the magic of intergenerational collaboration in jazz, and is a step towards combining the seemingly disparate sonic worlds of her first two albums - one being experimental jazz rock, the other being acoustic jazz. This new work is inspired by the uplifting and free nature of Keith Jarrett's bands, the sonic landscape of Weather Report, and the intricate grooves of Dave Holland's music.
Hannah Marks is a bassist, composer, and educator living in Brooklyn. She currently leads a risk-taking acoustic jazz quartet that features NYC’s most in-demand sidemen, and has showcased her musical projects at festivals like the Detroit Jazz Festival, Hyde Park Jazz Festival, 80-35 Music Festival, Mary Lou Williams Jazz Festival, Iowa City Jazz Festival and Indy Jazz Festival. Produced by Jason Moran, her second album, Feed the Fire, released in June 2026 on Endectomorph.
