Two years ago, the Des Moines music community lost one of their most vibrant voices in Amy Badger. As the lead singer of Love Songs for Lonely Monsters, Amy entertained countless people throughout the region, but what she loved the most was performing for her close friends here in Des Moines. This fall, we are gathering some of her favorite artists and colleagues to put on a showcase in her honor. Join us with a lineup of classic Central Iowa indie rock, for a night of great music to benefit the Iowa Chapter of the American Foundation for [https://afsp.org/chapter/iowa]Suicide [https://afsp.org/chapter/iowa] Prevention [https://afsp.org/chapter/iowa]. We’re getting the bands back together. For Amy.xBk presents

•• TIRES ••
Tires is a mind-bending, experimental space-rock experience. Hop in your spaceship and press play.
•• WOLVES IN THE ATTIC ••
Raw, swirling, and remarkably brash, Wolves in the Attic are an indie rocker’s dream come true. A band loud enough to get a birthday party shut down by the cops (I would know), with their layered, guitar-heavy approach and driving energy, their debut album and recent EP, Pink Mist, feels like an artifact from an alternate time line when indie rock decided to get more and more aggressive. Whether it’s an up-beat rocker like “Soft Machine” or a mid-tempo, more groove-oriented track like “Pink Mist”, the new EP’s production sounds like polished thunder, rock & roll that’s about precision and abandon. Wolves in the Attic’s songs highlight their sense of melody and melodrama, both lyrically and musically.
•• EASY FRUIT ••
"Put some cans on your head and one in your hand: the jean jacket junta has its soundtrack. Easy Fruit’s Easy Fruit EP has the effect of good propaganda or cheap beer. Its delirious energy whips you into a haze, and you somehow find yourself at ease. You stop asking questions and just enjoy the indoctrination..."
- Bruce James Bales
•• NEW MEMBER CHARLES ••
People say this band talks too much and their guitar man tends to black out on stage. They've been known to melt faces & eat hot dogs.
•• VOLCANO BOYS ••
Volcano Boys are a four-piece rock outfit from Des Moines, Iowa who are known for their tight live sets and catchy tunes. All members of the band, Jordan Mayland, Trent Derby, Tom Reneker, and Eric Moffitt, contribute to other groups and have a close connection with Iowa music. Volcano Boys pull from 90s music influences but still have a modern feel and have been compared to The Strokes, Weezer, and Queens of the Stone Age. While V-Boys love to turn up their amps and rip through a set, their forte is most definitely songwriting and melody.
