4700 Rhode Island Ave Ste B, Hyattsville, MD, United States, Maryland 20781 | Hyattsville, MD
Join long-time 18th and 19th century reenactor, and Hyattsville resident, Phil Hosea, as he sips mead and takes you through why the mighty British Empire sent its soldiers to sleepy Bladensburg, and what happened when they did.
Phil (only his mother calls him Philip) Hosea was born and raised in Springfield, IL and moved to the DC area in 1999. While always having an interest in history, this interest became his avocation and then vocation in the early 2000s. Researching and reenacting the time that created the United States, 1750s to 1810s, he would eventually work for three historic sites from those time periods. Namely, Historic London Town and Gardens in Edgewater, MD; Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls, VA, and finally Claude Moore Colonial Farm in McLean, VA (until its closing). While leaving the history trade in favor of health insurance, his research and interest continue.
Free event. Indoor and outdoor seating. Tipping encouraged.
