About this Event
Join Ocean First Institute on April 11, 2026 at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for the FREE 5th Annual Microplastics Summit! The event is designed to empower young people to understand microplastics, explore real-world impacts in the Front Range, and take action through science, creativity, and community solutions.
At the Microplastics Summit, families, teachers, and kids will:
- View real microplastics under microscopes
- Learn how scientists collect and analyze samples
- Explore where microplastics come from- and how they impact our oceans and communities
- Ask questions, make discoveries, and think like scientists

Parents looking for meaningful STEM experiences
Teachers & Educators
Anyone who wants to understand today’s microplastic challenges in an engaging and accessible way.
No science background required- just curiosity!
Attending the summit and exploring the microplastics activities also gives you free admission to the museum for all participants and guests, we just need you to RSVP in advance. The summit takes place from 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM and is drop-in style!
